We are pleased to announce that we will be holding this years AIGA DIY Screen Printing Workshop. Last year we had a great time and we learned right along with everyone who participated. We've taken this experience and this year we've got even more to offer. As of Wednesday March 16th the workshop is sold out, however we are releasing 3 new spots on Friday the 8th at Noon (EST).

Here's a brief run down of the event:

AIGA Detroit and Progress of Design present DIY Screen Printing Workshop! For those of you who get tired of strictly working on the computer and miss creating designs by hand this is for you.

This workshop is designed for people who have never silkscreened before.

During the workshop participants will learn:
Tips for file preparation
How to burn a screen
Various methods for preparing and creating designs
How to register a multicolor print
Instructions for setting up an at home screen printing space

At the end of the day you will leave knowing the basic tricks of the trade, a poster and t-shirt that you pulled by hand, and with your very own screen to take home so you can begin creating your own one of a kind designs.

To maximize the experience, each participant will print a design by guest designer Shawn Knight, that highlights the possibilities and advantages of the screen printing process.

Cost: $60 AIGA Members / $80 Non-AIGA Members* Cost includes instruction with the professional printers of Progress of Design, lunch, and all materials and supplies. Tickets can be purchased here.
